Since some of you came up with good ideas on Merlot for me, what about Vodka?

My dad is helping paint our Kitchen & Living Room. He likes his Vodka Gimlets & usually uses the cheap crap, I want to get him a bottle of good stuff..... suggestions....

Wazzy,
I like Kettle One or Stoli Gold. They are premium vodkas at a cheaper price then grey goose and are regarded just as good. Another good vodka is Tito's. It used to be pretty underground where you could generally only find it in Texas but now it has blown up. It is a "single malt" like the good scotches which is pretty cool. Pretty good price too at $25 for 1.75 L. If he likes the cheap stuff, I consider Tito's a fancy version of cheap vodka. It looks cheap but it really isn't and it is very very high quality.

Can't you just filter cheap vodka through coffee filters a couple times and have it come out just as good as premium? I think I saw that on mythbusters???

JeffreyCH, nah, that myth was busted, and it was charcoal filters.

You gotta run it through a brita filter. it ruins it for water but it works. And kirkland Vodka is supposed to be 1 filter less than grey goose for cheaper.
