Wakesurfing Ban

I just got an email from some peeps at a local pro shop telling me that there is a public hearing about to take place to try and ban wakesurfing in Idaho. WTF! Have any other states tried to pull this sheot?

Lop, no, but if the law passes it will set legal precedent for what happens when other states want to impose such a law... I really hope it doesn't pass, first wakesurfing, then wakeboarding.

DRAGON88, you got it all wrong. The ban is probably backed by wakeboarder/wakeskaters who are tired of thier water getting tore up by one wakesurfing boat doing circles in the middle of the damn lake and making it unridable for everyone else. I say ban the Bubb Rubbers! Twisted Evil

iv never wakesurfed and i dont know anything about it, do people get hurt doing or is it complaints about the waves?

devon, waves. Surfing is darn fun and you're only moving less than 10mph. Only danger is banging the deck or getting some fumes.

Every lake and state is different.

They tried to ban wakeboats on my lake.

We ran the 3 of the old fools out of town and the rest have crawled back into their caves. Literally 3 of the old guys that started the MOVEMENT have since sold their homes and moved, once they realized they were out numbered.

You need to make your voice heard they only listen to the people cryn- so get out there and start cryn...

Get involved. They tried to put up no-wake buoys in one of the more popular areas of Lake Gaston. Bunch of wake people fought it and won.

Show up for the hearing, get signatures, petition, etc. Fight the power!

that is friggin retarded. i dont surf in idaho, but i board. their is enough room on the lake to go to a different spot if someones terrin up the water in one spot, and if its to crouded, u have aero rock right above lucky peak. their is plenty of friggin room and its not like ppl have houses right on the water.

Here in VA the redneck militia, (game wardens), have taken the liberty of redefining a swimmer/boat law to make wakesurfing without holding the rope illegal.
