86 ski natique 2001 right up the road from me for 3850. I'm still waitin for my harley to sell before I even tease myself by goin to look at it. If/when I do go look at it, here's the list of things I plan to do:
-turn bolts on motor mounts to see if the stringers are rotted
-compression test
-check floor for soft spots
-take it for a run
anything else I'm missin? I know I was lookin at the2001.com but I heard it's been down lately. How many people can I legitimately expect to fit in the boat? Just lookin at this boat makes my trigger finger so itchy

That's not an '86...looks to be an 82-84 model, the dash is a giveaway.

well, its not an 80-82 unless they changed the paint. on my 80' SN will hold 5 comfortably crusing, but boarding can be a little tight getting in and out of the boat. my crew is ussually 4.

So it's probably an 84. I thought it said 84 when I saw it earlier last summer. I think I could come up with some pretty good ideas for some extra seating like maybe a jump seat built over a box for a sac behind the driver's seat to get it a little easier for 6. I'm dyin to go look at this boat. Because of it being right up the road I can probably get the good ole boy discount and get this boat for 3500. Very Happy

No one can sell a boat right now, esp a 25 year old boat....

Bring $2900 Cash and he [probably] will say yes. I'm sure you will be the first person with money in hand to stop by and he is getting scared that thing is gonna sit on his front lawn forever.

Money talks.

I don't know why I'm too much of a softy. I haven't thought about just comin in with cash flyin and gettin it for cheaper. Get him to take me for a test drive and then tell him I'll give him 3 on the spot. It's hard to turn down 3g cash when you know he doesn't have a boat payment.

Oh yeah I mean do the due dilligence first, test drive, compression tests, etc. If its all good, offer him the 3g, if he says no, walk and wait for another deal? Depends what you think is a good value though. If you feel $3850 is a good deal, then you don't lose anything by paying that much.

Did he sell the boat? Its not on craigslist anymore for a viewing. Or did he realize he was lying about the year?

Not sure if he sold it or not, but craigslist gets rid of things after thirty days.
