you mean, for right now? um, there's literally nothing going on down there until memorial day. it's beach and that's it.

if you want something a bit nicer, check out rockport. still nothing going on, but a bit nicer of a town, imo.

jt09, Port A is not that bad. They have some pretty good restaurants...my absolutly favorite is called "Shells" It's a hidden gem that only locals know about. They just built an awesome micro-brew pub. Sharky's is a nice bar to hang out, nothing nice about...but cool. If you going deep sea fishing, taker her on the Kingfisher. One of the faster fishing boats. Also, do the 8 hour. It's worth it. I really like Port A. I will post some pics from our trip.

Dpierce37, nothing "bad" about port a except that this is a terrible time to go. the weather is crap and the only people there are poor college kids. i was there this week about three years ago. took alexa down to rockport w/ the family crew and the men went out to the beach at port a and then sharky's. also the total off season for deep sea fishing.

How cool would it be to get a picture of her on her wakeboard with her cute baby tummy before the baby is born? Wink

I expect we will be working on getting the boy going on his board next season?

Enjoy your time together...life is about to change, my friend. (But for the better)

hmm....i made a reply to this post this morning but it's not here...

i'm being a bit harsh, but that's because i go down there 3 or 4 times a year and have to drive a car w/ no ac - so, i'm only going down there when it's going to be really fun.

i also just happened to have visited this week 3 or 4 years ago and it was really...blah...the whole time. gray skies, muggy, etc. but the weather doesn't look bad at all next week, and if i would have known you were trying to escape oklahoma, i would have endorsed port a as an upgrade immediately! Wink

Okie Boarder, I don't think wakeboarding while pregnant would be a very smart idea! Shocked

I was pretty relieved when we figured out it was a boy. Figure I'll throw him out into the wild when he's about 13 and see if he makes it. Wifey's been doing good though still hasn't gained any weight yet though and the chicks about 6 months pregnant (actually she's still down 5lbs.). Doc said it was fine though and it should come. Doubt she get up on the board though Okie. That would be a pretty shitty situation if she caught toe edge. WHAMMO!!

Dpierce37, bjeremi, I know. I was saying it a bit sarcastically, knowing the risks. My thought was more like how cool of a picture that would be...ya know? Too bad the risks are so high and nobody in their right mind would ever do it.

nah, weather doesn't look bad, and i don't mean to be a wet blanket - by all means, if it's oklahoma you are trying to avoid, port a is a big upgrade! Wink

but seriously, i go down to the coast a couple of times a year and i have a pos car that's not so great to drive to the coast - no ac. so i'm pretty picky about when i go. i just happened to go during spring break a couple of years ago and it was gray the whole time. not bad weather, just...blah.

Yeah, maybe. You should ask the doc to see all the risks. If there is any risk, I'd be inlcined not to do it, but it would be cool. Could you imagine showing the pics to your son later on?
