Not sure of the exact answer but I'm sure it puts out a much better wake that the pro riders are wanting to have the larger boat for uber height.
Nah but for real I rode behind a 230 a couple weeks ago and the wake is kick ass. It was loaded like crazy, sure, but I actually kinda liked it (coming from someone who dislikes Nautiques overall). |

It took me two months to figure out how to weigh my 230 correctly. I have to put two 540lb sacks in the bow, one in the walkway, and one on the floor in the rear + factory ballast. With the extra 2k, the wake is money. You just can't slam the rear of the boat without the wake washing.
The only drawback of the 230 with all that extra weight is that if it's windy or choppy at all, the wake doesn't stay clean. That being said, if you slam one of these right, get some flat water on a calm day, the wake is very big and clean, with a nice lip and enough ramp for nice landings, but not too much that it throws off your timing.
Just my .02. BTW, someone needs to buy my '08 so I can go ahead and order my '09! |
