length of board

I was wondering which length of wakeskate i should get i was plaining on building my own to save a few bucks and put it towards gas money, but Im still un sure on what length to set my board at im about 5'10 and average...
does the length of the board go by the same as it would for a wakeboard like its mostly preferance and what your plainign on doing on it... is the wakeskate the same way?

It's really all preference, I ride a cassette 41, and love the size. some poeple like a bigger board for w2w tricks. I prefer my board to be smaller so it feels more like a skateboard. I'm also about 5'10, for my size I would'nt go any bigger than a 43, a 45 would feel to much like a wakeboard. Hope this helps

i was thinking of putting it around 42 or 43 inches or so... cause i want to be able to do both wake 2 wake and surface tricks
