i know its not an expensive boat, or engine. but it works (worked) for me. last week, i lost compression in cylinder 1, this is the rebuild and resurrection post.
today, i got my seloc manual in, and pulled the power head off. rather simple really. |

So did you decide to fix this one and not buy a different boat? _________________

im going to at least pull it apart and see how bad the cylinder is. im going to do whatever is the most cost effective. i had a buddy that was in redding drive up to check out the supra, and the whole floor is rotted, along with both engine stringers. so its either fix this engine, or get a new one. for now. _________________ trying to find a $5-7K usable saltare if anyone knows of one. |

got it all pulled apart. the block is going to the machine shop today. im hoping that they can use acid to get the aluminum skuffs off of the bad cylinder that way they wont need to bore it out. saving money. |

got the block back from the machine shop yesterday. excelent job joes machine shop. price was right also. magna fluxed for cracks, took the #1 .015 over, and put a fresh hone on the rest, and resurfaced the mounting surfaces. got all the parts in on friday, except for the crank seals. they didnt come in the gasket kit. so i ordered them today. they will be here on friday. got the speedo put in today, as well as the tach, and the water pressure gauge. should be going again next weekend if all goes the right way!!! pics will come tonight. _________________ trying to find a $5-7K usable saltare if anyone knows of one. |

You gonna install a temp alarm so it doesn't happen again? |

i put a water presure gauge in. i might put a preasure alarm on it. so if the water preasure drops below 10 pounds, it would go off. i might put a temp gauge on it as well. _________________ trying to find a $5-7K usable saltare if anyone knows of one. |

Temp gauge sounds like a great idea.
Gratz on getting it back on the water. I know how good that can feel to do it yourself and have it workout :0 |

Looked familiar! My parents have a '76 Glastron T-156. Lot of fun times behind that boat growing up. We replaced the factory 80hp merc with a '00 model 90 hp merc. |
