Im buying a 2000 malibu wakesetter and need some tower speakers. Ive been around wet sounds with my friends boats, but now that i am about to get some i wanted to get some opinions on which i should buy. With that being said.......
should i go with A). 4 pro 60's or pro 80's. B). A pro 485 w/ two pro 60's or pro 80's. Or finally C.) two pro 485's. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on your goals. And also your tower.
Can you upload a pic of the tower.
If you want the loudest on the lake and have the room to fit them. A pair of 485's. If you want to be the loudest and cannot fit a pair of 485's, the 3-Some would be the way to go.
If you want to be the loudest and prefer the more traditional can style look on the tower, then 4 PRO 80's.
All 3 of those will be very loud. So loudness is covered no matter. So pick which you can fit on your tower and what you like looks wise.
Then of course it is other combos, like the Double Up. Aimed at those wanting a fuller sounding system for closer for surfing and party cove listening.
And you can do combos of MB-8 with 80's. 80 and 60 combo. 4 PRO 60's etc...
So it all depends on your sound goals, what fits and what you like looks wise.
Let's see what can fit on your tower, so post a pic so i can check it out.
And what is your sound goal? Sound to the rider? Loudest on the lake? Just some tunes? Party cove or surfing system?

Just make sure you have some decent tunes on your ipod when you jack it in, so tired of hereing 80's throw back music round here! The Top Gun theme is cool for about 2 seconds lol

This is a picture of the tower that i have on my boat, However the boat in the picture is not mine. Same model, year, and tower, but just a pic i got from the web.
Im wanting something that will be very very loud to the rider. My friend just has two pro 60's and they are loud but i would want something more than that. I dont want to piss anybody off because its so loud, but with that being said, i dont want to wish i could go louder and not had the proper equipment.

yea with that tower i'd go with the 485's or the 3-some.
An illusion and I'd go with 4 pro 60's

You will need about 60 inches across for a pair of 485's. So check to see if that will fit. If so, rock on!
If not, the 3-Some would fit perfect and look great on that boat.
For the 485 pair, you can use the SYN-4. And for the 3-Some either the SYN-4 or go all out and use the SYN-6.

| I would say throw a pair of 485's on top of the tower. You keep head room and it will be really, really loud.
