|

Ive got a 13ft, knock off of a whaler. Ive been on many 13 ft whaler and honestly when I compare them on performance mine shits on them. Alot faster, more powerful, handles better, now im bumpin the new system i got in it.
But anyway ive only got a 40 o/b on the back. You guys think ill be able to get up? I only weigh 135.
Also my boats got a hydrofoil.
Are there any other parts you can get for your outboards to beef em up? Im thinking of getting a new 4 bladed prop to help with the holeshot.
Oh and would more weight in the boat give me a bigger wake?
Thanks, skip |

SKIPPY PB, 40hp might be enough to pull you out of the water once you know what you're doing, but it might make learning a bit more challenging.
I'm guessing that 40hp is already going to be somewhat struggling to pull up a new wakeboarder, adding more weight to the boat is not really going to help in that aspect. I don't think it would be able to really take any extra weight, at least not an amount that will make any kind of significant difference in the wake. (I'm not even sure that adding weight to a hull like that would be beneficial to the size/shape anyways, even if you did have a larger motor...)
Hope that helps some, the only way to find out any of these things for sure is to just experiment with it.

Well thanks man.
When we bought the boat the guy said we could probably get a wakeboard up or skier. I think its doable because the boats got alot more torque if it were a car then most boats with a 40 hp. I think mine is equivilant to like 50 maybe 60. Plus my boats got a nice V shaped hull so its doing more then what most would expect.
Anyway im gunna try and get a nice at wakeboarding this summer. Ive got a house on the water of a lake. So I can have tons of practice. Im deffiantly gunna go for it, worst comes to worst im out liek 300 bucks until i get a new boat.
Thanks alot man |

SKIPPY PB,
We got up behind a 15 foot aluminum jon boat with a 15 hp. A whaler with a 40 should rip you out of the water. I weighed the same when we got up behind the 15hp
And you can surely kneeboard
