Hey folks...My name is Matt...I live in VA. First started wakeboardin last year and I love it!!! I picked up on it quick but I have a TON to learn. I have been readin all winter about different boards and bindings but Im really not sure what I should get. What ill usually be riding behind is a Chapparel 19ft. boat....no tower or anything like that...but it puts out an okay wake..nothing major of course. I want to get a board that will be good for that setup and something that I can learn well on. The prob. though is that I dont wanna get a cheap..entry level board that I will have to upgrade soon...but obviously i dont need to look like a poser and go get something super expensive lol.
I was lookin at a Liquid Force package....a PS3 board..137...along w/ Domain bindings...and then I was also looking at the LF Groove 138 along w/ Alpha closed toe bindings.
What do ya'll recommend? Im 5'11"...168 pounds or so...i aint really sure if i need a continuous rocker or a 3 stage.

Thanks for the help!

For me its simple when we talk about Continious rocker, or 3 stage.

Cableriders: Continiousrocker
Boatriders: 3stage

Why? Because when youre behind a boat the extra pop you get from a 3stage is very handy, while a continious is fast and is especially good when your at a cable park, but thats my 2 cents Smile

I think a good intermediate board will suit you. PS3 sounds good, but i heard the new S4 was way better, maybe have a look on that too?

Thanks for the response...im really clueless to this so I dont wanna spend a lot of money on the wrong thing. But Ill def. check that one out for sure. Is there really a big advantage of closed toe bindings other than the fact that your feet dont get as wet? When I look at some of the packages I feel like one part of the package must be weak...I never know which part lol

In my opinion, package deals have niceboards, but sucky bindings most of the time.

3 stage. heres some other stuff i pulled from a site:

Quote:
Key Features of the O'Brien Cartel 135cm Wakeboard:

Abrupt 3-Stage Rocker – Aggressive POP off the wake.
Subtle Chevrons - Board rides higher and faster in the water.
Molded Fins – Outstanding tracking and stability with minimal lift or drag.
V-Spine – Softens landings and saves knees and backs.
Beveled Edges – Helps prolong the life of the board
