Has anyone ever thought of doing this or seen in done? I have an old kneeboard that never gets used and it seems like if i bolted a big fin on back and somehow got rid of the pad and put grip tape on the deck i would be able to surf with it. Recycling my junk kneeboard into a surfer to save around $300

A kneeboard is prolly the closest thing to a surfer you can find, as opposed to a skate or a wakeboard like some people try to use. You'll be able to get up and maybe even let go of the rope. The shape of the board is going to prevent you to do much more than that, specifically the edge that's needs to cut into the wave to get trick level speed.

The other day I surfed with my OLLLLD Connely Blade wakeboard. Directional, almost NO rocker at all except in the nose. I was able to catch the wave and make some turns but it was not wide enough and simply was not a wakesurf board.

yeah i figure i will somtime just want to save the money for now plus i hear it is best to learn on a long board then once you get good with that go to a short board so you can do tricks and such i am hoping to eliminate the purchase of a long board that i will not use after a year or so.

That might be true for ocean surfing, not sure its the same for Wakesurfing. I wouldn't put a first timer on a skim surfer, but I put new people on my Walker all the time.

I was wondering the same thing if you could surf on a kneeboard. Been thinking about trying this behind my jet-ski to see if i would like surfing Very Happy Would that work and would it be dangerous behind the jet ski? No prop or anything to worry about

No, not dangerous. Just kind of pointless with no wave.

I rode the LF Venture and was NOT impressed. LF Custom is supossed to rock but is fragile. Hyp Landlock is easy but kinda slow and you can't do a whole lot. Hyp Broadcast is better (the shorter version) or the Coex is supossed to be really fun if your wave is of ok size.
