Hey, all you Canada folks (or anyone that goes to Vancouver) - do you have any recomendations on where to stay? Must Do's? I am thinking about going in June / July with my wife. Good time?

Thanks for the help!

The weather in the PNW tends to get better in Aug/Sept. We use to go to Vancouver quite a bit since the drinking age was 19. We would wander Granville street, but it was full of hooks and vagrants. I believe Gas Town is a good area to check out now for your evenings entertainment.

Stay on or very near to Robson St.

Tons of shopping, food, and bars. I've only been on business, so I didn't get to venture out in the area. Just from what I saw there are tons of places to go and see if you like the outdoors.

We're looking at going for the Olympics. Are there any places to stay between Whistler and Vancouver?

None so far, my wife and some others are planning on buying figure skating tickets. The guys will ski and we'll probably try and buy some of the snowboarding/skiing event tickets if we can find some "reasonable" prices.

We're trying to decide whether to stay in Vancouver and drive to the mountains or stay in the mountains and let them drive to Vancouver. We're not a big nightlife crowd, so it's going to come down to finding the best place to stay.

Thread resurrection... is the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park worth going to? I'm flying to Vancouver for a week in April and looking for some ideas on must-do/see things there.

if it's the bridge i'm thinking about it's around Surrey?

I don't know, it's a bridge, didn't think it was that exciting.

Downtown Vancouver is pretty cool. There's Granville Island, Stanley Park, Whiterock is a cool area. If you wanted to take a drive, I'd recommend taking the road out to Whistler if you've never done so. Great drive for sure.

If you can get a deal I always stay at the Pan Pacific on the waterfront. you can't beat the location.

That suspension bridge park looks awesome. I'd definitely hit that up.

Been a long time since I've been up to Vancouver... Very cool city.

Looks interesting to me, seems like there's more than just the bridge.

Was going to check out Stanley Park and some downtown spots for sure. Looks like since I posted we've hooked up a day trip to Whistler as well as another visit out to Coquitlam.

Pan Pacific looks like a pretty sweet location. We are staying at Club Intrawest Vancouver.

that's a different bridge than what I was thinking.... I was thinking about a bridge you drive over. That's why I was thinking, ok, ummm we drove over it and it wasn't that exciting...

I've got family out that way so have been to BC many, many times. I thought the suspension bridge was pretty cool so do recommend checking it out. I also agree with everyone else's suggestions.

Grey and rainy on Monday, yesterday was weird... sunny and warm, got cloudy around lunch... got out of the restaurant and it was snowing... then sunny again on the drive back to Vancouver. Typical changing weather from what I hear. Today's overcast but it's supposed to be sunny the next couple days. No complaints though!
