Slingshot Response - sizing

Hi everyone new to the forum and would like some advice.
Just getting into wakeboarding but have been kiteboarding for 5 years so
hopefully this will help my board skills.
Weigh around 180 lbs and want to know if you guys would recomend a 137 or a 142 slingshot response board and what is the disadvantage of going to the bigger size.

142, especially for a slingshot, i see that many pros opt to go with a bigger board size for SS boards

i'm 155 and i ride a 138 SS recoil so a 142 should be perfect for you.. how tall are you?

i used to ride an lf 134. i switched to a 142 recoil and LOVE IT. i'm 6' 180lbs.

I am 6' and ~155lbs. I ride the 137 Response. Good size for me and love it. The 142 will work just fine for you. Especially your weight. Height doesn't matter quite as much IMO.

Welcome to the forum, the sport, and good luck. You're kiteboarding skills will definitely transfer over a bit.

kitecrazy, Get as big as you can! I'm 5'11'', 185lbs and I ride the 145 and its awesome! My roommate has the 142 and its feels small to me. You can definitely ride a bigger size in Slingshots and not feel it. My 145 Response feels less bulky than my 139 3DS.
