| I have a question. Whats your take on boat vs. shore? We are thinking of hitting the shore Saturday and arriving by boat on Sunday. I heard the boat strip is going to be on the 'south side' by the Hospital I believe- Will there be anywhere to temporarily dock by Calhouns or will it be a mad house? |

I've never been to this, but I've talked to Jason about the same thing: Bring the boat or leave it at home. Since I'm 5 hours away, he said most of the partying is on the shore/restaraunt anyway, so it would be best to leave the boat at home.
Unfortunately I'm not gonna make it Jason..... I appreciate your hospitality though |

| since this is the first PWT stop here in knoxville, i'd say it'll be packed. there aren't many places to tie up downtown. i live here & will probably stay off the lake. there should be alot of vendors setup & calhouns ( the restaurant on the lake) has awesome beer & food. if you take your boat, you'll probably be stuck on the boat all day. |

| Jim M, shore might be best. You have all of the vendors there (Mona-Vie, LF, Ronix, Hyperlite, Oakley) and there's a lot of cool stuff to check out. Boat would be fun since people will be partying out there but on shore is pretty sweet as well, plus the pros walk around everywhere so you can stop and talk with some if you'd like. |

JeffreyCH, fell twice in my run on a heel 5 and in the same spot on the 2nd pass on a crow mobe. Both times where I fell was near the rooftop rail which is the only one I was going to hit since the transfer box is too experienced for what all rails I've hit. 20% of my score down the drain Scored a 66.75 or something like that. |

| Everyone is right that has posted. Feel free to come by land or boat. I am going by land sat and may go by boat sun. we will see how it goes. THe problem as people have stated is that it is on the south side and Im assuming once your tied up that is about it because the PWT tour I would assume will be taking all the dock space at calhouns. If I can help any other way let me know. |

| I actually just got done having a meeting with the setup crew of PWT and the city of Knoxville. They want as many boats down there as possible. If you come by boat just make sure you raft off on the south side by the hospital. So come by land or boat we r looking forward to seeing everyone. Also if anyone is coming in on Thursday we have a weekly rail event at wild wings off campbell station rd. the oakly lab will also be there. |

Thanks for the update Jason. We rented a slip at Volunteer Landing Marina for the whole weekend. They may still have a slot or two available if anyone is interested and they cut their rates in half as a favor to the event.
Have you heard what all is planned for the shore besides vendor booths? |

I'll be there with the new chattwake 230. Look for me and flag me down if you guys want to put some names with faces.
I'll have black wetsounds on the tower and I'll probably be sunburned, considering the fact that I don't have my z5 rack yet.

A great bar to go to for cheap drinks that's on the main drag by campus is called Cool Beans. It's one street behind Krystal off of Cumberland Avenue.
I may be there tonight.
The Old City in downtown Knox is a fun place to hang out as well. Barley's and Hannahs are two nice bars with great beer selections.
The Market Square area is fun too - which is only about 3 blocks from the Old City. Preservation Pub is one of my favorite bars there.
Market Square is also a short walk from Gay Street, which is the main drag in downtown. There will probably be a bunch of people hanging out at the Downtown Grill and Brewery on Gay.
If you're looking to hit up a local haunt. There a bar called Toddy's. Google map it. It's only a few miles from campus. You can bring your own liquor, and they sell beer. There's darts and golden tee inside, and a horseshoe pit out back.
PM me if you want my cell number and if you guys get lost in Knox, I'll try to help out. I went to lawschool at UT and worked in Knox for 3 years before moving to Chattanooga.
During the day, or for dinner, Calhouns on the river right at the tournament spot is a great place to get some BBQ and some cold beer. I suggest the southern flyer. If beer's not your thing, order an Ice Pick (Sweet tea with a shot of vodka). |

02lightning, love your boat man!! Not having a bimini is a great excuse to be sunburnt
I hate that they allow people to watch by boat at a pro tour stop. You get so many wally's throwing unnecessary rollers when they are coming, going, fixing their position etc. Definitely going to be an exciting stop. So many guys are killing it. Hopefully we get someone else on the podium this stop to really stir up the pot. Maybe Nick Davies will take it, that would be wild. I will say one thing, the choppier the water, the better his chances because as a cable rider, chop is something you learn to deal with. _________________ Liquid Force

I was at this Saturday and Sunday (not all day), and captured quite a bit of video. I'm going to try and chop it all up and post a compilation of what I got on Vimeo later.

I took about a billion pictures. I'll post some up tomorrow.
It was crazy hanging out at Buffalo Wild Wings friday night with all my Knoxville friends (where we used to go watch football every sunday) and milling around with Rusty, JD, Watson and others. Everyone was super nice. The new Hyperlite video was friggin amazing. The opening sequence where they were running ten boats, all pulling riders at the same time, all next to each other, and then all ten hitting a double up one after another was the most awesome thing I've ever seen.
Had fun hanging out with the Vandal for a little while today. Randal's nice as nice as they come.
And yes, no bimini was a horrible experience. Off to take a bath in aloe. Skin cancer here I come. |

Here's my collage of video footage from Saturday....
http://www.vimeo.com/5368906
I'm going to try and work on Sunday's footage and post it later tonight. Saturday I was on-site around noon until the end. Sunday I didn't get there until about 2:30p.
