Hey guys,

I am looking to update my '98 malibu sunsetter vlx. Being new to the wakeboard and boating community, i don't know what is really looked down upon (and i don't want to end up like the guys with the corvette emblems on a camaro). I recently picked up a byerly legend wakeboard and while looking at it here at home i realized i really liked his logo:

Would it be lame if i had a vinyl shop cut out this logo and use it on my boat. I'd go pretty big with it... maybe 54" long (max.. it depends on the height). Also I'd remove the 'byerly' font and just keep the wings, skull and graphic on the skulls forehead.

my other option would be to go with something generic like this:

so what do you guys thing?

I'm pretty new to boat ownership as well, but I don't see anything wrong with putting a byerly logo on your boat. Obviously I think custom anything will hurt resale value, but hey your boat is your boat.

Only problem I could see with it is if team hyperlite rides behind a different brand of boat or something (byerly used to be part of hyperlite but broke off and made his own brand - not sure if he is still affiliated with HL or not, but I'm sure plenty other guys here do) So I guess that would be my only fear.

At the end of the day it's your boat. If none of the above bothers you, then get it. It's whatever makes you happy.

thanks for your input, you do bring up some very valid points. as far as resale, i'm not concerned with that as much since it's only a decal that i can easily take off. when i purchased the boat all of the decals were removed anyways Smile
