So we are lossing McAfee because we are swithin internet prviders and we are going to have purchase our own.
McAfee did a good to great job. Should we just continue with them 80.00
Or can anyone lead me to a continuely updating program that we can trust. We run IE ( don't blame me the wife wanted to leave FireFox)

I use Avast. Its pretty price at $free, but once you install it you'll see its worth every penny you didn't pay for it.

I agree with Edrex...use Avast or Avira Anti-Vir (free also). You may also want to look at AVG Anti-Virus Free. Both are good programs that provide on demand scans and constant monitoring along with email scanning. I have noted that these two pick up things Norton won't. I run both together without issues and it doesn't intefere with my firewall either.
If you need to run a scan and don't have a virus protection program currently installed, you may want to look at Trend-Micro House Call. It runs online and downloads and active X control and performs on the fly virus scans. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
AVG also has a built in scanner bar for IE if you decide to install it.

another vote for Avast. Avg is good, but I dont think its free anymore.
I had more problems with symantic then anything else, I even ran the corporate addition for a year or so, but still got sh!tty results

As said, Avast or AVG are both good. AVG some say are better than Norton.

I have access to Sophos and Norton enterprise editions and still choose to run AVG free at home...6 years never had a virus...
