| Just wondering if anyone has done this over the summer? I think it'd be fun to do one month over the summer while i'm still in college. Definitely not this coming summer, but it'd be cool to do next summer or after. What is there to know about it? Is europe the best place to go? I'd almost consider a motorcycle journey in south america |

I spent a month in spain and portugal. I'd highly reccomend a longer trip and get the most out of it. _________________

I did a 6 week backpack trip through Europe my last summer of college way back in 2000. It was awesome though the last week I was kind of ready to go home. 6 Weeks with just the g/f and me in a land that doesn't know ice cubes nor free refils ha ha. I visited 5 countries, England, France, Spain, Italy and Greece.
The thing I loved about our trip is that we had a flight in and out scheduled, an idea of the countries we wanted to go to and a eurorail pass. The rest of the trip we totally made up as we went. If we liked a place we stayed longer, if we didn't we got the hell out. The only place we got burned was Florence. there was some convention going on so all the cheap places like hostels and crap were sold out. We stayed in a dump that still cost us $175 a night. |

| This may be the best time to exchange for euros. I've wanted to ride a motorcycle from Texas to Patagonia for a long time. I better learn Spanish first though. |

Did the same thing at the same time as you. Awsome trip, my buddy and I were on a three week class trip through out German speaking countries. Afterwards we headed north to stay with my family for a week. Then set out on a two trip by ourselves. It's probably the best 6 weeks of my life. Never did call that chick. _________________ jt09 wrote:
