meet up with Ed at the Austin Boat show friday and snapped some pics.
Black supra (team ed. i think?)
Blue SAN
drag hydro
Epic 23v
and the boat i went to see, the AXIS Wake...
52' Fountain
Lime Tige'
Malibu Responce
Red Tige' RZ
Malibu Ride
The WB.com/Boardstop booth. not trying to sell anything just a place to hang out, had wake movies on the plasma, with tables and bar stools around. and snacks and wake mags for the taking.
also got a great deal from boardstop on his last 08 recoil 142. thanks ed!
there was another place with some crazy deals, comp vests, straight line handles/ropes, board shorts etc all half off, he had boards and bindings too but i didnt look at prices for fear of tempation . also had all DVDs on sale for $5, push progress, drive, det. 2012, the book, etc etc, all $5. i came home with two.
Blue Supra
This Tige had some crazy audio/video/lighting in it
little tv was crazy(and pointless) had a damn nice amp rack under the winsheild front openings, all lite up with blue LEDs as well.
X55
This wakesetter had the best seating of any wake boat there. direct drive with 3 seating areas, front, mid, and rear. and no motor cover to crawl over to get on the swim platform.
Yellow SAN
was a pretty decent show. thanks again Ed. _________________

you're right, the seating in that malibu is the best
the speakers on the back of the epic is seriously retarded, there's no way they would last with water splshing up on them whenever u slow down (granted i ride in salt water so nothing lasts anyway) |

yeah someday I am going to learn that giving-away stuff at every event does not really help pay the bills.. Might need to try and sell something one of these days..
We are moving boats out now. What a mess! _________________ Wakeskating

so many places to bang in that Buuu.
How are those epics? dont they have like 4000lbs of ballast or something? Is the wake good? |

I heard they have huge ballast. I have never seen one on the water in the Austin area unless it was a dealer boat. I do not know anyone that has one. _________________ Wakeskating

Thanks for the pics. I like them all. I would love to have a new Tige with the picklefork bow or the new SAN. I like the new tower on the SAN. The Supras are sweet. I think I like the Epic best though, but I can't decide if I want to spend that much money on a boat. It's a wake machine with 4000#'s of ballast standard! Epic says the new kicker speaker system holds up well even if they get wet a lot which I think they will unless you drive like I do and just whip it around _________________ Sportbike Track Time Southern Division Instructor |

Makes me realize how much the Ottawa boat show sucks
anyone else think the tower on the 09 SAN's are ugly |

| Epic has 4000 lbs of factory ballast; 2-1500 lb tanks in the back, 1-1000 lb tank in the bow. Dual rudder serves as a thrust vectoring system. Transom speakers rather than tower speakers for the rider, 8.1 Volvo V8. I think the best part is the fact that the hull "bulges" in around the middle so that the flow of water actually sucks it down in the water in order to make the wake bigger. |

Yeah, except it would be a huge pain to try and weight the boat properly. |

| Supra looks like they are keeping it simple and not going with the wacked up tower designs. I like that. |

they don't use volvo anymore. merc, i think.
and the hull is "sucked down" due to the design towards the rear of the hull. not sure about the bulges.. _________________ my demo reel

jumalian, their website still states they use the 8.1 Volvo providing 375HP. As for the hull I found this quote online, but it doesn't say exactly what was done...
| Quote: | | Epic Boats started from scratch to produce its D.R.O.P Zone Hull Technology (Dynamic Reduction of Pressure Zone). Like an airplane wing lifts an airplane, segments of the hull actually pull the boat down deeper into the water when under speed, which displaces more water and throws a more sizeable wake. |
I could almost swear that I read somewhere that the DROP Zone thing was inward bulges (not deep, but enough) that helped suck the boat down. Maybe it is just the actual design of the hull, but I thought that's what I heard. |

The side of the Epic seems huge....seems like LOTS of freeboard by the way it looks. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |
