flyhigh, I met him this weekend. He was shorter than I thought he would be from seeing him on TV. I told him that and he said it was from all the abuse to his knees. Laughing

He seemed to be a nice guy. I wish I would have thought to snap a picture with him on my phone. I forgot my camera when I went. Also my girlfriend's daughter was pulling on my finger saying let's go sit in another boat.

So check this out.. I had my mind made up.. I have been rockin the ps3 the past two seasons, and the watson bindings.. My only two complaints about the ps3 were that it didnt buck quite hard enough, and I wished it was a little fast.. enter the S4.. so I knew I was going to have to own that joker.. I went into the shop fully expecting to pick up an s4 and some ot watsons.. never rode closed toe before.. but man, called an audible once I got in there.. I was just so impressed with the ones.. Ronix really stepped it up with their bindings.. jokers are stupid light, and baseplates built in.. plus they were super comfy.. Had to break out of my shell and try something new.. so glad I did.. I havent had a chance to have the setup on the water yet, but I have been strapped in 3 times in my living room.. Lovin it.. oh by the way, I am so impressed with the lack of heel/toe lift with these boots.. may loosin up over time, but they have my attention thus far Cool

Are Ronix bindings still able to be heat molded to your feet or did they stop that? i need a new set because my Cells are on their way out but they are to comfortable right now. and thats a sick setup i like the shape of the s4

flyhigh, if you end up paying the same price, definitely stick with the S4. If it held up as well as you said it did on the sliders then i think thats a better choice. Gator boards and sliders do not go very well together. Also check out www.boardersbestbuy.com every day, if you do that for 2 weeks you will end up finding an amazing deal one day on a board. I got an 08 monarch off of there for $250 i think ($700 board). DO NOT BUY A MONARCH IF YOU ARE GOING TO HIT SLIDERS THOUGH. I sessioned it once and completely owned it

Ebay also has some amazing deals on blow out 08 boards. I picked up an 08 witness 140 for $159!!!! And you know and you can ask shaggyboarder the witness is the best board ever made. you can't have the substance grind 142. there's only one left, and if my ronix rep doesn't pull through with a Bill board for me I'm picking it up. I just broke mine saturday at McCormick's Sad

but as a testament to that board, I had it for a solid year, and I've never had any other cable board last me more than 2 months.

so here is the skinny on the s4 as far as just looks.. or changes from the ps3.. First think I noticed was that there isnt a removable fin, which is fine for me since I rock it finless. They did however put two small molded fins on the insides of the bigger ones, They said that it is a little more sticky, but definitely not too much. A few of the guys that got to demo it were saying that it seems to hold a little better toeside edge. Another thing that stuck out to me was the more defined center beam.. The landing on the ps3 were not bad, but any improvement on that is good for me.. They also seemed to add enhance the speed channels a little bit. Which the ps3 could have used a little more juice imo. I didnt notice much more rocker, but it is said to have noticeably more pop this year.. Im so freakin ready to try this dude out.. Im probably just going to have to go freeze one time to get it out of my system..
