I have my second monitor hooked up to my HP Notebook via the expansion base. The extended monitor is working fine, but I can't figure out how to make the background different. What ever image I set as the background shows up on both.
Any ideas? |

I could be wrong but I think you have to use an external application to get that to work.
There is a free one I use to have a taskbar on my second monitor. It has some other features like background I think. There are also pay ones out there.

| Thanks. I will give that a try. Even if it doesn't fix the background issue, I like the idea of having a taskbar on the second monitor. |

I do think you need an extra program to extend the taskbar and other controls. I have the same background on both monitors. _________________ Wakeskating

| Ejazzle, See Wakebrad's Link. I haven't installed it yet, but it seems like some pretty cook freeware/shareware for dual monitor setup. |

It's been a while since I've used dual monitors on Windows, but can you not just make a picture as wide as the two screens, (For example mine was 2560 X 1024) and then set that as the background, set to "Stretch"?
However, later in my time on dual monitors I did just use UltraMon... Great program |
