Nasty wreck on a pete rose, caught my back edge at the lip of the wake, blacked out for a few seconds, couldn't breathe right for about 4 hours. Nothing too terrible though.
I'm actually proud of that too...I didn't try pete's for about a month and a half after I fell that day. I came back to it strong and landed the cleanest one I've ever done at a tournament back home in Ohio. h2obug was there to witness it .

the people at the hospital made me write "yes" on the knee that was to be repaired just as another precaution that they wouldn't operate on the wrong leg. i guess you can never be too safe.

RC...I hope that was a photo from many many years ago with the older technology/surgery procedures.
That is a ridiculously large cut for an ACL/Meniscus repair.

Ruptured ACL. The big slice is where they take a piece of the patellar tendon for the graft.

Worst I ever had was a chipped bone in my heal from coming down from a double up. Although I did have a friend need to get 12 stitches in his chin from getting smacked in the face with his board during a failed raley. It was extremely gross, you could see his chin bone

| intotheflats, One of my friends hit his head with the board to. He crashed and 1 foot came out and 1 stayed in and somehow the board hit him on top of the head. He got back in the boat and we were like are you ok and he said yea the he turned around and blood was just running all down his back. We looked at his head and he had a huge gash in his head. We took him to the hospital and he had to get several staples, and he had a busted ear drum.

marcg, it all depends on what procedure you have.
Donor repairs look like tprkolbas's knee, and is done usually part of a dead guys hamstring,
Patella graft repairs look like mine and sambo's, and is done with the middle third of your patella tendon.
The Donor procedure is obviously a less extreme alternative and requires less rehab and work on the patients part whereas the patella graft Bubb Rubb your world and requires more rehab and a longer recovery time. The upside to the patella graft is that once its all over and done, your knee will be stronger than it would've been if you had a donor.

| I cased on a tantrum once and the board popped up and gashed into my shin. You could see the bone and the muscles on both sides.. it was pretty gross. Unfortunately we didn't have a camera..
