And the byerly assault isn't really a flex board, its just a very soft board. But it's a great rail board and an even better boat board, The fins just need to be shaved down a little bit, which you can do because of the abs inserts in them _________________

well, I took my first set ever on a flex board (I bought a Slingshot Response online... just decided to take the gamble based upon what I know of board statistics and reviews.) and it was absolutely amazing. I am very, very happy with my new board. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

By flex board i mean a board that bends, unlike your normal core wakeboard, which is why i made the choices like i did.
The assault may not be a flex board to the extent of some of the others, but i know i saw a vid of Scott standing on the board while it was upside down showing how flexible it was..so in my opinion, that extra snap off the wake and press ability from the assaults "softness" makes it a flex board when put next to something like a Watson or Marek.
IMO, they're all flex boards. It's just the preference on the amount of flex, and the shape of the board; that preference is why i made the poll, to see what the wb.com community prefered.
wake eater, idk if that question was directed towards me or not but i have been riding for 4 years, Outlaw rider for the past 2 and was trying to go pro this year before i tore my ACL on a heel 7 off the dub. _________________ When it rains, it pours. |

| it was meant for everyone. i should have worded it better. i was wondering if more experienced riders liked flex or no flex and likewise for the newer guys. |

wake eater, been riding seriously for several years now. I'm an advanced rider I believe... but don't really care for competitions too much though. Only like the high concentration of other wakeboarders and a place to witness other styles of riding. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

I'm an experienced rider, been riding seriously for 3 and half years and working at a pro shop for the last 2. My experience with slinshots and LF presses is that they feel like a dead core in a regular board to me. I know there is a teqhnique to riding them and that its a very progressive edge, but I dont want to relearn to ride because I changed setups. I like me setups now, (shane, watson, witness) and am very comfortable staying on them _________________

LakeIolaLuke, I could see how that could happen, but since I'm a very progressive edged rider, it works amazingly with my style of riding. Straight up and very floaty pop. Love it.
P.S. did you ever try to call again? My service in my dorm room is really spotty, and wanted to make sure I had not just been "out of service" some time. Since I haven't re-set up my voice mail calls like that just drop into an abyss. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

and back on the flexy board thing, you should check out collin's new Groove. Its just as soft as the assault, and looks like a very playful, fun board with a nice loose fin setup and crisp edge on a cont. rocker. _________________

nah man, it's cool. Sometimes I get asked about a call that my friends made to me, and I had no idea they called at all. All the while the phone is sitting right under my nose too. I just didn't want that to have been the case. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |
