I read this post and Ive got a pretty good handle on how to start on one of these. Does anyone remember the thread used on the fitting that screws into the block for hot water? It looks to be 3/8 in the picture. I dont have my boat near by so I cant really measure. I wanted to try and get as much as I can ahead of time.

Thanks

Come to think of it, is there a fitting that comes out of the heads or the manifolds that I can use? Getting to the bottom of the motor is going to be a chore for certain.

Even on my riceburner but super snazzy LEXUS V8 dual overhead cam Marine engine sporting variable valve timing, aluminum block and heads, throttle by wire, stainless steel exhaust manifolds etc. blah blah blah WGAF the heater hose connections are exactly like every antiquated fred flintstone pushrod V8 like you poor bastards have in your boats and like in every car I've ever owned:) That's humor right there, for those of you without that sense. There is an inlet and outlet pipe coming off somewhere on the water jacket, sometimes the water pump, sometimes the intake manifold, usually around 5/8" inch, even on my Godzilla inspired beast from the mysterious east. They will be capped or plugged if you don't have a heater, but they are THERE. Go back two pages and there are pictures that I posted of my dealer installed shower, should be an absolute no brainer to install one even if you built it out of parts from home depot. The only "boat" part is the pump.
