turned out to be a fun/intresting one.
i started out this season only being able to do HS single wake jumps.
and by the end of the season my trick list reads
HS w2w (i lack like 12" on TS)
BS surface 180s ( and a few finless suface 540s)
TS and HS 180s (single wake)
riding switch comfortably
and a few grabs.
also bought my first boat.
i remember going w2w the first time and that first completed surface BS 180 i was SO stoked and my freinds and g/f jumped up in the boat yelling. that was a cool feeling.

on to the pics (nothing fancy, newb here)

bought this '82 SN2001 for 5k, already had tower, sacks, 4 blade, and new interior and short block.

a cool waterfall on the lake, that thing was cold

climbed about 1/3 of the way up

never could get this lein grab, after 4-5 trys, i could only get a boot slap Sad

found this little guy trying to cross the lake where we were riding, so i pulled the boat up, picked him up, and returned him to the shore. it appeared he had fallen off the cliff, he had about a 1" open cut in his side. hope he made it.

by the end i had the BS 180s not so hunched over like this pic.

cool little ultra-lite flying over head

HS 180 (single wake) after a few i got them down where i didnt have to rodeo the back hand to start the rotation and make the landing easier, by the end i was able to hand on with both hands.

heading back to the ramp for the last time Sad

cant wait for next season....

Nice shots..awesome boat..and gives me hope for my progressing....I started mid into the season and can do HS W2W, Riding switch, and a grab or two and surface 180's..Hoping to do more grabs, lots of switch riding, TS w2w and my goal for next year is a tantrum lol...we'll see how that goes...I added a sub, perfect pass, tower speakers, new amp, interior speakers, and 3 ballast bags for about 1500lbs extra weight...I'm right there with ya I cant wait for next season...at least you got to ride in trunks and a jacket...I was in a full wetsuit, rash guard, and neoprene trunks my last ride...sigh

thanks. sounds like we would make good riding partners. wow tantrum huh? not sure ill get the balls for an invert next season, but maybe. i feel ive got the basics down, and was REEEEALLY progressing that last 6 weeks. sucks to have to stop.
i added...a new starter lol.
ive got 500 lbs in sakes, and thats whats great about a 19.5' boat that weighs 2500 lbs. is that it only takes half the ballast to get the same wake. 500 lbs sinks the boat about 5" and makes a wake to my knees, 1000 lbs would get insane.
yeah texas has its perks.

Yeah, the only big diff I would say is that I'm runnin an I/o....thats why so much weight...I put about 750 in the bow and then 500ishi n the locker and the rest in the back for a tall and rampy wake...at almost 22ft though its a little better for the weight distribution...Your boat is definitely awesome though...Im hopin for the tantrum...but thats near end of the season unless somethin changes and my balls drop enough before that to try it haha...in my last part of the season I was getting better and higher and at points landing in the flats..then it came to an end...I would have loved to ride longer, but snow last week made me realize I am for sure done till march/april-ish lol

You guys are lucky that you got to ride as long as you have, my season ended in September. Looks like first season progression is pretty textbook though, sounds exactly like me. I was able to take one HS FS 180 wake to wake, last trick of my last set. Too bad I live in the Great White North, otherwise we could have a nice little riding group. If you have W2Ws dialed, go for a back roll. I have been very close to landing them, and you sound like you should have little difficulty in getting it.

Do you mind if i hijack with some of my shots of the last session of the year? Maybe we could make this thread end of the year pictures or something. But I feel like I should ask you first Laughing

Well, I'm chilling in college on a wednesday, nov. 5th and my dad calls me up to say it will be 80 in two days and see if I could make it to the lake friday afternoon. I make sure it's cool with my math professor and I arrive to the lake right about the time math starts and we head out on the water.

The new setup

slayshin

everynow and then i get off axis on my 180s, I'm able to save some of them now... but not this one.

hs melon 1

notha slaysh

learned to tailpress that day

ts slayshhh

bad timing stalefish

and my favorite, melon 1

I wanted to go out with a bang and give a backroll a shot the next morning but it was raining and I had to head back for a football game.

But this season I landed some grabs, 180s w2w both hs and ts, grabs on my hs 180, hs fs 360 (only once), and some sw. hs 180s.

6 failed tantrum attempts, probably 50 failed 3s, a few failed backside 1s.

I'm really hoping to land some more 180s with grabs, get fs 360's down, tantrums, backrolls, and scarecrows next year... we shall see!! can't wait for april! Twisted Evil

thanks!
killeen is about halfway between austin and waco. yeah the waterfall is bad ass. and its from a waterplant so it runs all the time whether its a drought or not. the view after the hike is pretty sick too.

its insane. period. do the upgrade. the pop is insane. and no bad tendencies. and the curved fins are really trick. loose on slides, and tight on carving. i dont know why no one ever thought of that. its just perfect. get the 140.
$198 is a steal. luckily i got mine for alot better than that. Cool

Backrolls arent as scary as you would think (or maybe I am just dumber than I think), there isnt a whole lot to think about as you throw it. It does make for some nice falls though. Threes are next on the list for me as well. Hoping to get all my 180 variations down as well. Blindside, that board pic made me drool. Beautiful board.

Man, I wish that I could have just HAD a season. I only got to ride on the 4th of July holiday this year. No time between work and a new baby. Hopefully I'll get to find some rides on the delta next season since I just moved up to the Bay Area.
