best board for my son?

im thinking of getting my 2 yr old son a board for his birthday next summer when he turns 3 on july 4th. he is fearless of just about anything, and a wakeboarding nut. you should see the way he waves me on from the back of the boat!!!!! and he loves being pulled on the tube (with me with him of course) and he will even stand on my board and have me pull him with the rope on carpet or wet grass.

so im wondering who makes the smallest board and bindings? what brand is best for young riders? i think that he could do it by the end of next summer. if anyone has suggestions or tips, please reply.

I would say he is probably a little young for a true wake board. How about getting a Jimmy Jam, http://www.obrien.com/products_detail.asp?ML3=1102, for him. He can kneel on it and also stand up and not even have to hold the rope until he wants to.

It is hard waiting for kids to get bigger...

Yeah, if you get him up, definitely get video. A few things I would recommend that I learned this year with my son.

1. Get him used to the board on land and work with him on the starting position.
2. Work with him in the water with the board on. Get him up out of the water and let him go face first into the water. Also flip him face down and make sure he can either keep his head up out of the water or flip over.
3. Help him getting up his first tries until he can ride quite a ways. Help hold him in the proper position and get up as the boat pulls.

My son is 6 and he was getting up and riding about 20-30' by the end of the season. He did pretty good, but it seems like the pull of the boat was his biggest issues and he couldn't seem to shift his weight enough to keep him from being pulled forward. When he got tired of trying with the wakeboard, I'd let him ride the kneeboard. I've heard of lots of people trying getting up doubles on a wakeboard or surfboard too.

Do what you feel is comfortable for you and him and it should all work out pretty good.

As far as boards, I'd say flix recommended a good one. I was thinking the smaller the better at this point.
