Hold the handle with both hands and keep it tight to your hips, and make sure you leave the wake balanced. Its easy to lose focus when you are learning by looking down or looking at the boat in the air, just try to stare at either your landing or the far shoreline and stay in control. And just keep at it, this stuff aint easy!

Were you getting wake to wake?

Maybe when you're hittin it, in the air you're pulling the handle more towards your leading hip. This will make your body satrt to spin backside in the air. Are you letting go with your backhand at all?? Cause that used to always get me when I first started and caused me to spin like that everytime.

Take an easy approach, big wakes kick you a lot harder so you are probably backing off your edge at the base of the wake and you may be getting yanked forward, that would be enough to buck you out of control. Just take a smooth progressive cut, stand tall as you leave the wake, and just commit to the whole jump. If you are only making it half way, you are either absorbing the wake with your knees or you don't have enough speed and power on your edge to carry you the distance. Remember that speed=distance and edge=pop/height.

Make sure the driver is going fast enough to keep the wakes in good form and not too spread out, wake 2 wake jumps should really be effortless.

Its easy to write a paragraph on some things that you may be doing wrong, but all that matters is what you are thinking about when you charge the wake. Same as golf, you can only have a couple of thoughts in your mind or you will get overloaded and things will NOT work out. Here are some common thoughts, figure out what will help you the most and concentrate on them, thats what will help you progress and get consistent...

Keep my weight centered on both feet
Keep the handle in tight to my hips for the whole jump
Stand tall as I LEAVE the wake
Keep my knees tight, don't absorb the pop
(...stuff like that)
