Too good to pass up???

Am I missing something here? This looks like an amazing deal and since I am in the market for a new laptop, is there any reason I shouldn't get this? I am looking for something under $700 and I was decided on a 17" HP for $699 but this looks like too good a deal to pass up. All I use it for is web surfing, some office stuff and burning cd's/dvd's. No gaming or anything like that. What are your recommendations?

intotheflats, I'm sure it would be fine.

I would strongly recommend you buy somewhere other than BestBuy though. If you do buy it from there, don't bother with the extended "warranty" as it is not worth the paper it is written on.

Well for $400 I won't worry about the ext warranty. If it breaks, I'll just buy another cheap one Laughing

looks like a good deal.

i've had good luck w/ best buy and their warranty. hard drive went out twice...replaced on the spot, no questions asked. dvd drive went out...sent me a replacement drive a week later. i effed up the power cord...it still worked but they sent me a new one.

it should be fine, the few acers i have dealt with seem to be ok. as with any system preloaded with stuff, you need to disable many of the needless startup programs and stuff.

oh yeah, the one weakness i have seen in some acers is the dc jack. i would recommend not charging it while you are using it in your lap/bed as it seems the wiggling may screw up the jack. but even if it screws up it is only like $30/$60 depending on if you can solder or not =)
