just tried wakesurfing for the first time this weekend. threw the rope in on my 5th ride. Learned on a Landlock. want to get my own board for myself/friends, but am unsure what to get. the landlock was super easy to get up on, but that's all i can tell you. Should i get something smaller now that i can surf, or something larger for lots of folks to try? Anything in particular? FYI, we are surfing behind my friend's 2007 Sunscape 21 LSV w/ Power wedge down, center, and appropriate rear tank full.

Wakesurf boards are one of those things that if you spend the money, the reward is well worth it. I would look at brands like Walker Project, Phase 5, Inland Surfer, etc. You can get away with a major brand like LF or HL, you just will be limited in what you do past the initial learning curve.

There is also Surf vs Skim. Surf being carving, airs, etc. Skim being more the shoves and spins.

Once you decide on style and range of rider size, picking out a board becomes much easier.

I've got a 08 Liquid Force Custom surfboard for sale. It's 4'10" long and is actually a good board. Real surf feel and pretty fast on the wave. It's not a Shred Stixx or Walker Project board, but for sure a step up. The board sells for $400 new.

$250 plus shipping.

I'm looking to get into surfing. We're in the process of buying a true wakeboat after our I/O got demolished on the way home fro mthe lake. We will want to get a board that's good all around for my kids, wife and me, riding regular and goofy foot between all of us. I've looked at the LF Custom and I like it.

What would be our best bet to provide us with a good all around board? Is the LF Custom a good option? Others?

DS3, you still have your board for sale?

Okie,
I still have the board if you guys might be interested. I think it would be a great starter board. It's easy to ride and more buoyant than some of the "wakeboard" type surfers. Smaller people (small and light girls/ women) would probably like a smaller board, but they can ride this size just fine. People up to about 200 lbs should be able to ride this board with a good wave behind the boat.

Call or email me if you have more questions.
