Well i just started wakeboarding last weekend and I love it! I was able to get up on about my third try, I tried to get the feeling of it all weekend. I am having a few problems though. I am able to get in and out of the wake heel side, but everytime i try it toe side i eat it. What am i doing wrong? Also are there and tips and jumping the wake? I tried to just do a few small jumps this weekend and both times i feel without getting any air at all. I did watch a lot of videos, but none are really helping me with what i am looking for, that i have found yet atleast. Any help or tips would be great!

Thanks!
Kevin

Bend your knees and don't look where you don't want to fall. Look where you want to go...

It takes a little bit of speed and try to cross the wake first with the tip of the board and not the side of the board. This is common mistake beginners make.

And like Mikebu said, bend you knees.

At first i also had trouble going to my toeside as does everyone. mikebu, is right when he says look where you want to go. Also dont hesitate to cross toeside. Jumping will come when you can perfect crossing the wake.//// Jumping. you need to have a progressive edge. then when you are approaching the wake stand up and lift a little an you front foot and you board should "pop" up.

Toeside edge seems to be tough for most beginners.

The most common mistake is leaning in the direction you want to go. Intead, lean back on the rope. Then roll your front hip (hip closest to the boat) toward the shore. Also, as already mentioned, LOOK in the direction you want to go. Keep your knees bent but keep your hips and your chest up. Don't hunch over. I promise that if you lean back and turn your head and your hips, you will carve out on your toes. Give it a try. Good luck.
