Kicker 08S10L54 sub with which amp?

I'm looking to add bass in the drivers foot well of my 97 VLX.

I want loud base due to the boat environment and want to try and fit this kicker box and sub:

It's a DVC 4 ohm sub rated at max 450 RMS.

I was thinking of getting either the Kicker ZX750.1 or ZX1000.1

The ZX750.1 is rated at 375 watts RMS at 4 ohms and the ZX1000.1 is rated at 500. I've read that kicker amps are underrated which makes me think the ZX750.1 will be good enough?

I'd rather not spend the extra $$ on the bigger amp if not needed, not to mention it recommends 0/1 gauge wiring which I'd rather not have to deal with either.

I'm looking to get quality loud bass for $500 or less sub + amp.

I would say get Alpine Type R 'woofers. Cheap, durable, great quality, and overall just a great company. Then go to Millionbuy.com and pick out a nice amplifier for cheap (I use the hifonics 500 mono amp, 120$). I got my type R for free, bought a nice box for 50$, and bought the amp for 120$, installation stuff for 25$, and did the labor myself. My whole boat vibrates and it's beautiful bass.
