|
|
| I am looking to design a website with basically the same layout/template as this one (but not for wakeboarding obviously). Does anyone know of any free programs that could accomplish this? I'd also like to have a forum on the site but I'm not sure how to get that set up either. I'm not an expert in this area, but I know enough to get by (I think). If any of you could point me in the right direction or offer some help I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance!! |

They have a lot of very good templates at templatemonster.com
This forum is from phpbb.com . A lot of the features are extra plug-ins that they have added.
I haven't written a PHP website since college, but phpbb is the best bulletin board software out there. So that would point you toward using PHP.
If you are looking at writing a PHP website I'd search something more PHP specific. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

| How much do you think it would cost to have a site like this designed for me? I don't want anything too extensive, the main area of the site is most likely going to be the forums. Is this something that I could design myself without much knowledge or something I need to have designed for me? |

What experience do you have building web pages?
There are a lot of design your own webpages and things out there. You can do it with Microsoft FrontPage or Dreamweaver or something. But that's going to limit your functionality and flexibility. Having someone design you a site like this one would cost you a lot of money to have done. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

| Well the pages don't need to be anything special, really basic would be just fine. I could design the site myself without much trouble using a template, but the forum aspect I have no clue... |

| I haven't designed a website, or created a forum in quite some time myself, but IIRC you can just download the phpBB software and then I believe you can just upload it via FTP to the site on a page like forum.yoursite.com or yoursite.com/forum. I'm sure you can go to phpbb.com and find some more information. |
