Well, surgery was today and everything went well. They took some awesome pictures that I'll try to post in the upcoming days. Now for 6 weeks in a hard cast Sad

Any good suggestions on things to do while drugged and layin in the couch for a couple days? Can't use my right hand for anything. Only typing w my left. Any good new movies out on DVD on in the theatre even? Any good gaming websites I could check out? Anything to kill the boredom would be great... lol

glad everything went well for you. Im sure it was nerve wrecking having to wait for the operation to start. I havent really been keeping up with all the forums but what kind of surgery did you have? I take it you must have had a hand fx? Are you still in alot of pain? Well now you will have something to brag about. Scars are like tattoo's but with better stories. Wink

As far as killing the boredom I cant really think of anything that doesnt require both hands. I saw the movie drillbit taylor with Owen wilson the other day and it was pretty funny. Stupid but funny. The new Rambo is also pretty good but I dont know if you would like that or have seen it already. If you havent seen mad money you may like that movie its pretty good.

Sorry if im no help lol. Well again glad everything went well. Hope you heal quick so you can get back to everday life.

Wakin - They repaired my TFCC that I tore in my wrist. Doc said it had gotten even worse since my MRI 2wks ago when they originally found the tear. Not really a cool scar, just 3 small holes bc it was an arthroscopic surgery. Gave me vicodin (which I have discovered by not sleeping yet) keeps me awake and even takin 2 doesn't kill the pair. Gotta have the doc call me in somethin else I guess

Saw 'Rambo' already lol. Don't ask how I got suckered into that one. Thanks for the help though Smile

They told me to put an icepack over my cast, but I swear it's doing nothing even after holding it on for a half hour. Anyone have this problem before?

Glad everything went good, I hope you have a fast recovery. It's been a while since I have a surgery, not that I want one Very Happy. But I do recall how bored I was with nothing to do.

I recently bought the blockbuster pass and I have rented a few good movies, some of the are king of old, but sill good choices.

1. Thank you for smoking.
2. The orphanage (this movie is in spanish with english subtitles, its from the same director as hellboy, the guys is a genius)
3. smart people
4. golden compass
5. The simpsons (I know its old, but I just saw it again and that movie never gets boring Smile)

I got a lousy memory, ill let you know if I remember any more or if I rent more in the near future.

Take care

capix - watched 'simpsons' last night. quite amusing. Spider Pig is the funniest part. Haven't seen the others, I'l have to put 'em on my list. thanks Smile

jt - u should hear the story about pre-surgery. having to explain a certain piercing, putting in a plastic one, having the doc approve, etc. what a freakin process

Stay away from the "buy it now button" on the computer. Everything looks better while on the pain medicine! It is interesting to see what you thought was cool show up at the door for months but some things are a little difficult to explain to the significant other.

jt - no jewelry is allowed during surgery. i had to even sign a waiver to have a plastic one in.

alter - this is one of the few times in the last few years when i can honestly say i have no desire for sex or anything associated with it lol. i had quite a nice few evenings out before surgery, so those memories will have to get me through for a little while.

lcap - pain meds dont make me loopy at all. vicodin makes me hyper and talk a lot. perc's make me very lazy. valium wont let me sit still. its weird...

Percocet is the only way to go. I hated being in my cast and there really isn't crap that you can do right. I hope you are doing alright.

kavlock99 - I've been watching stupid movies (Ice Age, Over the Hedge, Nemo) because those seem to make me slightly happy. All the girls are picking me up and taking me to a movie tonight. So I am looking forward to getting out a little bit

There is a fair amount of caffiene in vicodin. I can not take it either, speeds me out worse than ...

Word to the wise, as you are taking pain meds, eat lots of fruit and oatmeal. You will thank me later. (I learned the hard way)

booby bunny,

Pain meds and fiber???? What does one have to do with the other????

Yes I am a very good repeat client! BUT at least I haven't found my way to the sidelines like most. Hell I don't know where the sidelines are but it may be time to get some directions.

Aubs- If I were you I would be calling my doctor and telling him what your taking isnt working good enough. I understand its going to be painful but you shouldnt have to be in that much pain. If it gets to unbareable go to the ER and they should give you something. At my hospital they're always are giving drugs to people who dont even need it. Just try not to tuff it out if you really need something more then you should get it.

Thats pretty cool that there are just going to be 3 tiny scars.

Aubs, I had surgery some years back. They went in and had to slice apart my eye socket. Recovery was 2 weeks of not being able to open my eyes. The muscles that move both eyes act in correlation, meaning if one eye moved so would the other resulting in ungodly pain. So two weeks of sitting in a pitch black room. Couldn't lay down so I sat in a recliner. It was all gravy till they took me off the hard stuff and put me on the percecete. Then it was pure boredom.

Your lucky you can walk around and do stuff a bit, but I hear you on the pain

When i had knee surgery it was 2-3 weeks of lying on the couch watching daytime TV. The pain was unbearable if I stood up. It took me 45 miuntes to get seated on the can, not sleeping

I started playing video games but I couldn't stay in the upright position for very long before it started to hurt to much.

I was given T4's the a limit of 2 every 4 hours. It was not even close to strong enough

God I hate surgery
