Pretty cool discussion artical. I found it weird that Bobby Hebert is the best player all time for the Saints.
My team's (Buffalo Bills) best all time player is Jim Kelly. I agree but it can be argued that Thurman Thomas was better.
Do you agree witht he pick for your team?

I know kickers are vitally important but to have a kicker as the greatest of all time is crazy.
I think Ray Lewis or Jamal Lewis? Jamal Lewis did rush for over 2k yards in 2003. |

how about Tony Siragusa?
If he doesn't belly flop on Gannon the Raiders go to the Super Bowl _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian? |

yes, it's emmitt smith, no, it's very close. aikman, staubach and dorsett are all in that discussion. it's smith, but not by any significant margin. |

Totally forgot about the Goose. Maybe it is his dreadful side line reporting that made me forget his playing days. |

jt09,
The Cowboys must be one of the most difficult teams to ever come up with a "best" player. There have been so many great ones with great supporting teammates. An argument could be made for all of these:
Bob Lilly, Mel Renfro, Rayfield Wright, Roger Staubach, Tom Landry, Bob Hayes, Tex Schramm
Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin
Instead the Cowboys should just be the "Best Of All Time--NFL Team" _________________ I hope the weather is calm as you sail up your heavenly stream

I was surprised to see Bobby Hebert as the Saints all time player…. He really only had 5 years with them, playing 5-6 games the other 2 years…. He was a LA guy I guess, so maybe he gets some points there….
Though Archie Manning didn’t throw up great statistics, he did put in the work….for like 11 seasons…. Maybe they cannot put a guy in that has the worst record of any NFL starter with over 100 starts…..
So I am going away from the star positions and will go into the trenches with Willie Roaf. |

I can make the argument for every person on my list. By the time I was finished Emmitt Smith would be an afterthought. Except to those who only know Cowboy football in the 90's. From the 90's on you have three players to pick from.
I didn't start because you're such an unrealistic prick who knows all. _________________ I hope the weather is calm as you sail up your heavenly stream |

I was pleased to see Derrick Thomas listed for KC. There are a lot guys from way back in the Hank Stram days, but I'm not old enough to have ever seen them as anything but old timers.
How is Pat Swilling not the Saints' player?
lcap, you've got to put Drew Pearson, Tony Hill, Too Tall Jones, Randy White, and Everson Walls on that list too. And Herschel Walker. Without all 12 of him they never would've made the trade that built the "Team of the 90's."
Can we all just hug now? _________________

Marshall Faulk? WTF no question it is Deacon Jones
Green Bay- Don Hutson
Ravens or Colts (take your pick)- Unitas
Steelers- Joe Greene or Jack Lambert
Raiders- Jim Otto
Cowboys- Staubach, Lilly, or White
Saints- I agree with pet575, Pat Swilling
I definitely can't argue with Barry Sanders, but I would like to think Dick Lane gets some consideration |

If nothing else that tells you how bad the Saints have performed as a franchise over their history. |

just noticed they had Dick Lane for the Cardinals. I was thinking he spent more of his career with the Lions than he really did. |

The Colts should have Johnny Unitas. 6-time NFL MVP?
Matt Stover is a curious pick.
I thought the Redskins would have voted Riggins or Monk.
In the AFC East, funny enough, #12, #12, #12, #13? Marino, you messed up again!
Here's another observation, I think they messed up on the Minnesota Vikings, it says Randy Moss got the most votes, and Tarkenten is named the greatest! |

Just think - if he would have won just one Super Bowl out of all those NFC Championship games he played in...
DAMN that Dwight Clark and his "catch!" |
