|
|
So every year a few of my friends and I plan a no wives or g/f's trip somewhere. It would be a leave on a Friday and return Sunday or Monday.
We can't go anywhere that would that wives or g/f's would be really jealous of. Rather, it needs to be a fun place that isn't to obviously fun. No european vacations or tropical destinations or we'll get the "your leaving us behind and spending our vacation money on yourself"
We basically want to go and drink our faces off and act like jackasses for a weekend.
It can't be crazy far (within North America) or insanely expensive.
One of my buddies suggested Austin (never been) as an alternate to the traditional Vegas type vacation.
We definately don't want any kind of "upscale" vacation but more of fun people down for a good time type thing.
Any other suggestions? Most likely in September or October |

| I love going up to Austin, I doubt you would leave disappointed. Plus you can hit up San Marcos or New Braunsfels and get wasted floatin down the river! |

Been to Austin once before. Think I posted about it once on here. Basically got drunk at a strip joint the day before new years in Milwaukee, closed it down, decided to keep partying and jumped a 5 am flight to Austin. Spent New Years there and bounced a flight to Mexico. The Mexico part was planned, had to shuffle the tickets around a bit. One hell of a trip and the most wild and random thing I've ever done. So yeah Austin is the stuff. Definantly go. _________________ jt09 wrote:

| Floating a river is a lot more fun than it sounds if you've never done it. You're pretty well guaranteed one of the worst sunburns of your life if you're drinking, but it's worth it. In fact, floating a river is the only place I know of where you can drink all day and never even leave your seat to take a piss. And, you'll have no idea how drunk you are until you get to the end of your float and try to walk. |

geezus, 800 bucks for a round trip flight.
I'm going to have to dig around a bit more to cheapen the flight or it'll be to much.
Road trip would be fun but 30 hours is a bit much for an extended weekend.
I'm wondering if I could get a better deal flying to Dallas and then driving (3 hours from google maps??). |

Canucked, Dallas to Austin is about 3 hours w/out traffic...
Also look into plane flights into San Antonio (about an hours drive) or Houston, which is like a 3 hour drive to Austin as well. |
