I have one, bought one used had number of issues with, like it woudl freeze up or randomly shut down, just weird things. I got it replaced under warranty and have not had a single problem with the replacement.
Its a pretty nice phone, was my first PDA, one thing that suckde was mine didnt come with documents to go (word access, excel etc) but you can demo/purchase it online for about 20 bucks.
The web i thought could be a little faster but again I have no comparison, first phone I ever used the internet on. The calendar is awesome, its almost like a personal planner.
I had for abotu 2 years now, I am goign to update, but its definalty a nice phone in my opinion |

weatherford, just get a BlackBerry and you will be happier. The 8830 or Curve has the full keypad and does everything you want.
The Q has huge return rates for quality issues. _________________ www.highrollerwakeboarding.com |

Does the current Q run WM6 or WM5?
My Gen1 Blackjack is still going strong. It really improved when I installed WM6 on it. HUGE difference, in features & functionality anyhow. _________________

I have one. It just died but it actually was a really good phone for me. But the lack of cut & paste and the limited OS has made me need to move on. Err - that and my daughter dropping it on the ground repeatedly and me generally treating it badly. It also got went constantly from the boat.
The entire right hand part of my keyboard now barely works. Buttons like p, l, o, up, return, period, all require that I stomp on the key to get it to work.
But I was very, very happy with it as a PHONE. As a talking device it is very good.
I am getting the SCH i760 next week to replace the Q. I just ordered it. I can't wait to go back to a touchscreen and real copy/paste functionality - plus more memory, more open platform etc.
I ONLY spent that money on such a good phone because I now know the iPhone won't be on Verizon for at least 3-4 years, if ever. They have no answer to the iPhone and I am a "business" user and need the PDA's and won't go to a Blackberry. I dont like AT&T's service, I think the iPhone needs time on the cooker, but it is the best phone out right now. I just got what will get me by for a few years until Verizon & Apple have a make-up session, get me an iPhone with 1:1 sidetone (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sidetone) and I'll be very happy. Wish I had that option now.
And to further babble, if you do get a Q, dont get a Q9m or Q9c. They are both bricks by comparison to the Q and dont offer much more functionality. Neither have v-cast, and the navigation on the Q9c is $10 extra month. Just get the regular silver or black Q and you'll probably be happy. It's one of the best phones I've ever been on and I change up a lot.

Yes it does. Better than Windows Mobile for Smartphones. WM4S is an acceptable OS, but I really look forward to going back to a real OS. The HTC Touch Dual looks nice. My last phone before the Q was their HTC PPC 6700. A complete brick of a phone but a nice device. Actually an amazing device with all the capabilities of the iPhone (minus the amazing, amazing browser on the iPhone) but packaged into the weirdest square, odd, horridly designed package. It never got the attention it deserved. Who knows - maybe HTC can make a Windows-based threat to the iPhone. The Touch Dual doesn't look like it's it though - but they are getting there.
I've said it before but I'll say it again. There is no 'iPhone killer' now. Nothing comes close to it. Verizon users are trapped. Trapped in the best coverage in the country, with marginal devices. It's sad that they weren't able to work it out on Verizon. Sadface. |
