so i went wakeboarding today..and i tried hitting a rail..i only tried it two times cuz i just couldnt get it and i didnt want to hurt myself..whats the right way to ride a rail..its one of those where its flat and its about 5 inches wide..how do you ride up it and how do you balance yourself?
there is many a way you can ride a rail. I am assuming its a flat box rail. some rails have ride on sides where you can actually just cut towards and take a little ollie onto it and just ride all the way across. The best way to hit a rail is to ollie onto it and board slide. If you keep equal pressure on both feet you wont tip off in any direction also keep your knees bent and lean foward a bit so the board doesnt slip out from under you causing you to land on your back or butt. Its hard to ride up on a rail perfectly straight and 50-50 slide it unless you know what you are doing and your board is set up so that you can actually do this.
Your best bet is to just up to it jump up turn the board to a boardside and apply equal pressure lean a bit foward and bend your knees.
Hope it goes well. This may be hard to understand if you dont know skate terms. _________________ I represent NOR*CAL!
