|
|
I just got a new Dell computer and the speakers that came with it won't work. The computer is a Dell XPS 630 and the speakers are Bose Companion 2 Series 2. The speakers did not come with a driver CD or any kind of CD. Everything is plugged in correctly. The speakers make a little bit of a feedback noise when I plug them into the computer, but I can not get them to play sound. The computer is not muted. Everytime I plug the speakers in a Realtek Sound Manager window opens and asks me what I plugged in and I select desktop side speaker.
I've tried Dell chat support but they say chat support is not available for this model yet.
Any help is appreciated. |

First, make sure your sound card is properly installed...
Go to:
Control Panel > System > Device Manager ...
do you see any yellow ! points? or anything that is expanded?
Also if you have a higher end sound card, make sure u try all the ports while u have music playing, sometimes the surround config gets a lil confusing... _________________ stay clean, like me

Tried the device manager. No yellow ! points and nothing expanded. I tried plugging the speakers into every port. still no sound.
I don't think it's a higher end sound card, just the one that came on the computer. |

| I plugged the computer speakers into the headphone jack in the front of the computer and they work. They just don't work when plugged into the back. |

| Okay, I plugged them into the back of the computer and selected "headphones" when it asked what I plugged in and now they work. |
