What chance of having a dedicated part of the forum for "I want to buy some new kit and so would appreciate the advice as to what to buy from a load of people that are a different standard, ride in a completely different way, and have completely different personal preferences to me" posts.
I dunno - "Equipment Queries"?
And I know I could just ignore them, but there do seem to be at least 5 a day... |

Hey flounderbout, while you are here, i was wondering if i should get a 148 or a 151 hydroslyde cosmo-wake. The colours match my knee board and it would look awesome next to my ski on my skylon.
You seem like a duder so i just thought id ask _________________ burrrap |

Does the General Wake, Accessories or Newbie forum not cover this type of question sufficiently? To me, General Wake is a catch all that should capture this kind of question, even if they come up a lot.
The questions are entirely valid, by the way. Nobody is knocking equipment or technique inquiries. But in my opinion, there is already too much subdivision among the forums as it is. I'd like to see less, not more.
Let me know what you think. I am moving this to the "Site Suggestions" area.
Thanks,
Erik |

Well it is just that there are thousands of these enquiries, and because of the volume of traffic in General Wake nobody ever bothers to dig out the last post about which was better, the Shane or the Watson etc etc ad nauseum.
If there were a "gear" forum then they could all just be collated there, which would hopefully cut down on their volume.
There is plenty of good stuff on the General Wake, but it gets kinda lost in the garbage...
We have a Technique section (which is excellent), why not a Kit section? |

Because I'd still argue that it is covered in General Wake.
Seriously, burying it in another subforum will get you less views (and thus responses) than if we left it as-is. |

I cannot see adding another forum.. If it gets to be a big problem Mods can move the board questions into one of the existing forums and we can maybe rename one of the forums and add Gear to the title? _________________ Wakeskating

flixmaster, I think that would be awesome. Maybe Newbie Qusetions and Gear and Accesories. IMO I dont like seeing the What Board Should I Get??? 10 times a week in the General Wake Disscussion Forum. _________________
