|
|
Hello all
I am a fairly new boarder. I have a Obrien Valhalla board CWB rear entry boots. I have been playing with the stance on the board I currently have it on the second hole out and sitting at 7.5 degrees on both boots.
The problem I have is both my feet really hurt after I get the boots off (cramped up muscle pain) and my left leg (which is my back leg) gets pain in the knee and upper thigh(muscle cramp type as well) The pain starts about 5 min of wakeboarding.
I do switches and single wake jumps.
Any help you can give me to ease the pain would be greatly appreciated.
I have just moved my boots out to the 3 rd set of holes from the inside. |

I am not an expert by any means and am actually interested in the responses this post gets as well.
I set mine way more ducked out than yours after originally setting them nearly straight as per "the rules". With them straight I found I was getting a lot of pain in my knees and sciatic joints and ducking out my bindings has helped the situation. I should mention that I have had injuries to both knees over the years and have always walked somewhat "duck footed", so I don't know if this is typical for anyone else or not.
Do the bindings feel comfortable the way you have them set? I ask because not everyone on the planet has the same physical structure and I don't think I believe there is one "by the book" binding set point for everyone. You should set them to feel comfortable to you. Is this not why they make them adjustable? From your photo, and once again I am not an expert, I would say you should try turning them out more to match the natural angle of your feet. It also looks to me like you have them too far apart. _________________ Vitam Piratea Eligo |

| When I started I found stress in my knees/legs as well but discovered it related to shoulder positionmore than foot position. When I started riding correctly with rope handle at front hip with shoulders parallel to the board the pain went away. |

If you look at your feet in the photo, your toes are sticking out to each side farther than your bindings currently allow. Stand like you are in the pic, and squat down-now how far do your toes point out? Definately need to roll more duck...I think mine are at 18 degrees or so...
I got a major cramp in my calf the other day from taking a super duper set. I am pretty sure I was a bit dehydrated. If you are cramping up, start eating bananas for more potassium and HYDRATE. You can also you can try CYTOMAX...it is supposed to break up the lactic acid build up in your muscles. I use it for every sport I do.
You probably just need more time on the water. I find that towards the end of the season I can last much much longer that I ever did at the start.
Good luck! |
