Ok i have gone beyond the point of just jumping i am trying to get some serious air. We are behind a 1995 tige so we dont have a huge wake but i was able to get 4-5 feet under me today. My only problem was i had trouble landing. I could land it but i was on my heels so much that i was facing the boat and sliding though the water. So i tryed it again and i did the same thing, so the next time i landed one handed twice and both times the rope was pulled from my hand but i could ride away but i had no rope so i just sank. Is they something i could do to land it or do i need to do some more trial and error and more face plants or rectal enemas.

when you land try squating, damn near sit on the board. do it alot at first until your landing consistantly, then start squating less and less until your sticking the landings.
or try letting go with you back hand at the exact moment you hit the water.
or a combination of the two.
also when jumping, look where you want to go. not down. and spot your landing. _________________

Its basically the same as any other type of board sport, as you land squat and it will absorb all the shock. If you land straight legged you will just kill your knees, jump and then absorb the landing by squatting down.

Well i had a chance to go out to day. Finally i was able to get way out into the flats and land the thing. I was going W2W but what they didnt tell me was we had no ballast in the boat. So the last run with out my knowing they loaded the boat with 1200lb and since it was the last run i let it rip as hard as i could. I looked for my landing and passed it and went 3-4 feet out side of the wake i was able to hold and and ride it out. After that i was able to do it 3 more times. Now i dont see why i was having problems in the first place.
