|
|
I'm a 5' 2'' female, 150lbs, in search of a board for a beginner. I used boardstop's boardfinder and they gave me three boards that I could try. I'm trying to share the board with my sister (5'6" 120 lbs), so I'm looking for a board that would compliment the two of us. Also, is necessary to stick to ladies' boards, or can we use a guy's board in the right size? I'm pretty sure I'm in need of a 136 and I know which boot size I need, I just need some guidance as to brands, and whether or not I can bridge the gender gap.
Any help would be amazing! |

You absolutely can ride a men's board. In fact some product lines have the same board shape with different graphics for men or women. They are just starting to come out with "woman specific" bindings (within the last few years) so you might look into those. I haven't tried them but they claim they fit a lady's physique better.
I think you are fine with sharing a board so long as your feet are generally the same size. Correct binding size is more important than board size in my opinion. You are not that far away in size/height for a 130something to be a good fit.
I personally like Hyperlite and Ronix but that is only because the Liquid Force dealer near me is awful! If you have any local shops where you can borrow a board and demo it that is def the way to go. If not, read a few descriptions and go for it! |
