(pardon the idiotic newb question) Rolling Eyes

wonder if such a trick exists.

basically a grab, where the bottom of the board is completely facing the boat, but the board is perfectly parrallel to the water.

does something like this exist/possible?
name? pic? vid link?

You would have to be directly over the boat for that to be possible. Like standing on the tower with your board on.

Or do you mean perpendicular (like a method)?

splash that accheives the same effect. in my head i had imagined that the body would not be twisted, ie knees at your chest, chest facing the boat. grab on the toe side. and there for the bottom of the board facing the boat (like your pic) and the board being parrallel to the water, (as apposed to at an angle)
does that help? does that exist?

STANG KILLA SS, I think you're confused on the "parallel to the water." A regular grab would have the board parallel to the water.

If you're thinking of just doing a normal indy grab (toeside) where you bring the board up in front of you, facing the boat, I think you'd call that a tweaked indy.

It's not nuclear. And your board is perpendicular to the water there, not parallel.

i disagree, looking from the boat, the tips are the same distance from the water. there-for parallel to the water,
now the BOTTOM is perpidicular to the water if thats what your refering too.

STANG KILLA SS, if you do a normal jump the tips are the same distance from the water, and therefore parallel. That really doesn't describe anything. I was referring to the bottom. If you consider the water to be a plane and the board to be a plane that's the only way they could be parallel.

The FLAT surface of the board is perpendicular to the water, yes.

I'm not sure what is perpendicular and what is paralell to the water now, but this pic is the most similar I found, to what STANG KILLA SS was asking for. Sorry for showing no grab on it. Wink

Ah, the rider is not me. Cool

ok. lets see if i can try this one out...for all of you that have played a recent Tony Hawk game. When you NAIL-THE-GRAB and hold an indy for a while the skater kind of flips the board up like the pic above.^
Indy poked or stiffyed in a weird way???

That pic seems like it would be pretty hard to do...

i mean, either you'd have to bring your knee up a redic amount to get the bottom of the board to show

or you would have to be leaning back, basically with the rope between your legs, which would be pretty hard too

STANG KILLA SS, your grab is called an indy stiffy. It's considered more of a beginner grab before a rider really gets control of grabs. The reason its style isn't respected is because the rider's butt can be seen below the board in a giving-birth like position. Unless, that is, you have double jointed ankles like your stick figure dude. It's also really easy to do. Not so hot.

Now, on the other hand, a method, which is a melon grab tweaked like that nuclear at the top of the thread, is a difficult move that is about the most stylish textbook move in any board sport.

The end.

IT's a STIFFY people. Regardless of how you grab it (generally an Indy stiffy). Basically both legs being boned out, stiffy.

It used to be a "cool trick" in the wakeboard how-to video's back in the day (30 Dirty Tricks, etc) .. I remember when WW used to have the tricklist and it was on there.
