Edited for lack of responses 'cause people don't like fin questions. I like riding finless, but want some small ones for choppy water. Where can i get a pair, and what is best. I've been looking at the hyperlite Awing and Pwing. Which is a better fin for riding in chop but still having a quick release.
ORIGINAL POST......
So i was doing some reading on the forums and decided to take the 1.2" fins of my Hyperlite Motive and learn to ride finless. I must say, riding finless is the way to go. I feel pretty comfortable carving heel and toe side (although toe side needs more work) and i'm able to surface 180's, as well as learn to ride switch. I have a question though. I ride in the Long Island Sound (out of Stamford, CT) and unless I get out early in the morning the water can get a little rough. For these conditions i was thinking of getting a set of .8" or .7" fins for my board to give a little more control when it gets rougher.
My questions are..
1) do I need to buy hyperlite fins to fit the hyperlite board, or will pretty much any make of fin fit?
2) is there really that much difference between aluminum and fiberglass fins, and which would be better for me?
3) Where is the best place online to buy fins. There are no real wakeboard shops around me to pick stuff up.
My board is a Hyperlite Motive 140. I'm also looking for fins for a buddy who's in the same situation. His board is an O'brien Custom.
Thanks!!! (hope i posted this in the right forum).
