I had to buy a horse, but now ollie has a friend!
I know the cost of a pull just went almost double since last season.
Kinda glad I don't own a tow boat right now.

muckmeister, glad I'm not making big payments on a tow boat and gas. Oof insult to injury. Not hating on anyone, my boat puts out a wake about a big as my pecker in the snow. But it's cheap to fill'er up.
Me and the fiancee are carpooling..........we may not be engaged much longer.
I get to spend more time at the house fixing things because I don't want to take the jeep out, or the boat, or the truck. So the house is looking great!

Hasn't affected us much. It costs me about $30 more to fill up the tank on my boat. I usually use about 1/4 tank for a good day at the lake with the family, it is effectively costing me about $30 more per month during the season for the boat. As far as the truck pulling to the lake, I use about 5 gallons of gas for the round trip, so my increase is about $6 each time we go, or $24 a month. As far as boating and boarding go, the extra $50 a month isn't really making that big of a difference. For our regular driving in the truck, it is only adding about $30-40 a month.

Luckily for me, not sooo much. I live in the city and commute via public transportation, or hitch a ride from my husband for free
In fact, if I wasn't such a water whore, I'd be pretty unaffected by the rise in gas prices.
Filling up the 20 gallon Master Craft will certainly double.
It's filling up our big boat that is gonna hurt. From $450 to $900 for sure, but we don't travel far when we take it out so that will last through the season.
I feel for the long distance commuters out there. I will ban with you guys in getting our employers to move to a four day work week, however, to help you save on gas. I'm here to help

| Not at all. I take the bus to work, and my boat hasn't moved in 3 years (nothing to pull it with).

the 5 people kiteboarding in front of my house everynight are starting look pretty smart. I wonder if the shop will take my wake gear on trade?
I traded my towing for a marina slip this year, saving a ton of towing costs.
Overall though, I don't give it much thought

The Union just ratified a contract with a $15/hour raise so it looks like I'll have some extra change to pay for gas.

Brit_Rider begins usual and inevitable fuel price rant and general jealousy toward 'cheap fuel' America.. ,
- My pick up is now at $160 per fill (was $95 only 2 years ago). Gets me 400 miles (5 days). Does that make any of
- My jet ski is now $120 per fill. Gets me a days use.
- My Boat is now over $300 per fill. Gets me 2 days boating.
That is expensive people.... $4 a gallon is not.
I have a credit card I used exclusively for fuel with a $1600 limit. I pay it off in full every month on the 1st. on the 25th of last month it got declined - I'd maxed it in 24 days...
Ends rant,

It is not just the price of gas.
My mazda 5 gets twice the mileage and has half the tank size of my old F150. I just went though my statements looking for something else and saw that I am still spending the same as I did to fill the truck.
What is killing me, my weekly trip to costco has jumped from 140.00 to 240.00 a week. I am buying the exact same stuff. (milk, cheese, butter, half and half, eggs, fruit, beer plus whatever staples have to be replaced)

I said F'it I am not down grading I'll just make more money, so I started taking engineering jobs on the side and now I am getting very busy. I estimate in about 6 months I will go full time.

By the way, have you all heard about the bill the Democrats are trying to pass to add more taxes to our gas?

No I haven't, I haven't seen any language regarding an increase to the gas tax. One would think it would be political suicide to do so. I would think even the dumbest of politicians wouldn't make that choice right now given the location on the hot stove that it currently sits. Where did you hear that?
WRT raising taxes, what did you think was going to happen? Did you think we would stay the course? Should we continute to tack on to the $3B in pork belly spending since 2001? We're $9.4T in debt, Barack or McCain stand to inherit a $400B deficit, and social security and medicare costs stand to double in the next decade.

w/ my I/O its 40 bucks to fill it up and have 2.5 to 3 hours of straight riding. But instead of charging 5 bucks a person, its gone up to about 8 , or 20 bucks for 3 trips

I have tried to quit "playing" when I drive and just baby the VUE as much as possible. Looks like I'll hit 27 MPG driving 30 miles a day on 2-lane to and from work. Last weekend I pulled 29 MPG on a all Hi-way road trip.
My FIL started hoarding gas mid-winter in 5 gal cans for this summer. The new engine uses a little more gas but the extra power is real nice.

I know I say this alot, and I don't care if anyone hates it (don't know if ya do).
I filled up the Supra last weekend, went out and boarded in the morning, then cruised to the local chill spot, partied all day, then took the 20 minute boat ride to the local lake restaurant, cruised back home, and am still at 3/4 of a tank.
I didn't notice till yesterday. Looks like I'm hitting the water this weekend.
(and to those reading if I see that blue X2 again, I'm coming over and getting a pull, thanks)
