This is only my second year wakeboaring and I love the sport. Living in NY sucks though since you only get 4 months to do it.

Anyone got any advice out there on how to make the wake bigger? I bought a four winns 190 before wakeboarding and have since put a tower on it. I know about fat sacs, but is there a cheaper option, other than people?

Living in NY doesn't really suck but living in Ithaca sure did. I was on Cayuga St. I hope you're a student. It's kind of the only way Ithaca is tolerable. I wasn't a student and didn't have access to a boat despite living near a lake - so that may have contributed to my disdain for Ithaca. I worked at a company up on "?Triphammer?" road.

Are you riding the choppy green waters of Cayuga Lake? I never had a chance to ride out there, but I wanted to.

I'm riding the choppy waters of Cayuga lake. It is only calm in the mornings and evenings. Other than that it gets real bad out there.

I'm not a student and own a boat, so it isn't so bad. But I'd like to wind up somewhere I can do this all year round. I'm living on the commons right now, so it is fairly entertaining.

What are you doing in Binghamton imsowakested? Playing hockey for the university?

Naw, last time I was out there was the previous weekend. I usually head out on evenings during the week and mornings on weekends when I'm around.

What kind of boat are you in? I'll look for you if you're out on Cayuga again. I'm in a Four Winns with a tower (There aren't too many towers on Cayuga lake).

We've got a yellow Glastron with a yellow tower...if you don't see us you might be able to hear us -- We usually have our music blasting at 11 from the cans on the tower

Where do you ride when you are out? Down by Ithaca? If you are looking for some good riding spots on the lake, I may be able to help you out -- We have managed to ride here for 4 years without getting seasick from all the chop

I had a 18' four winns horizon with a tower and about 1000 pounds of ballast in it. Not a bad little wake considering. Fat sacs are the safest option, but if necessary, sand bags or bricks will do. Anything will help, but anything heavier than water will drag the boat down if you ever get swamped...

I have my boat in a marina in the south end of the lake, so we tend to go right there in the south end. Usually north of the houses on the south east side of the lake. (near the cliffs).

I'd definitely like to know if there are any "secret" spots where the water may not be as rough. I know just north of Myers park is sometimes a little calmer. Any help would be great.
