Ok, this isn't about wakeboarding specifically, but I didn't know where else to put it and its sorta affecting my riding... Rolling Eyes

Earlier this month, our town chemically treated the lake for algae. Ever since, I’ve been having wicked sneezing fits every time after wakeboarding. I don't have ANY allergies otherwise, and it feels like I have a head cold – sore throat, itchy/runny nose and sneezing. I never had this before, even when I went wakeboarding back in April. It was still freezing back then (I live in MA), and I didn’t sneeze at all. Weird.

Anyone else had this problem? Also, what are the symptoms of that amoeba thing those kids had last year? I know those kids were riding in warmer waters, but I’m wondering if this amoeba adapt to cooler waters?

for the amoebas to survive the water temperature has to be something like 85 degrees so i wouldn't worry too much about that

No the symptoms of amoeba are passing out, coma, then dying. you're probably fine.

And another reason wakeboarding is better than surfing, you die less, that means you have another day to wakeboard, which is more fun than surfing anyway.

"I have a head cold – sore throat, itchy/runny nose and sneezing"

I get EXACTLY the same thing, I have no other allergies, but about 3-5 hours AFTER i ride, i just hit with extreme allergies

Its not however, Amoebas.... and for some reason i only get it when i go to the lake we ride on 90% of the time, OWC doesnt do it.

I just bought some claritin ( Actually the cheap target brand ) and take it in the morning before i ride, it has helped a ton
