anybody get a chance to watch it yet? very intersting, even if you're not religious. For any other Christian riders out there, it's very refreshing to see a strong christian making an impact on the sport, and props to Gator Lutgert and Ronn Seidenglanz for puting that interview in one of the bigger wake titles this year. _________________

i haven't seen the interview but i have read a couple in magazines. i think its awesome how bold he is to profess his faith. also i really like how he explains Christianity is not just about a religion but that its about having a relationship with God. Its pretty cool to see his stance on it. you don't have to be a Christian or even agree with it to appreciate the stand he is taking. _________________ WHY |

I watched it and will say it is quite amazing. Randall's closing section completely raises the bar on the level of art, style and wakeboarding that have been captured on film. It will give you the chills. I watched most of the video on a plane and stopped Randall's section after about 20 seconds because I knew a 13" screen and headphones weren't worthy of what I was seeing.
Great work by Ronn/Sidewayz/Gator/Team on the whole thing, and GREAT for home theater viewing.
Randall's testimony was pretty cool. Its nice to see when someone finds passion again in something they had completely lost. For him it was both religion and wakeboarding. Call it selfish but thank goodness for our sakes!
A good portion of the soundtrack is Manchester Orchestra which is a pretty impressive band. They are playing a show next Friday night in Atlanta at The Loft if anyone in the area wants to check them out. Kind of like a Built to Spill or a toned down Modest Mouse. |

It was a great piece to watch and see how the man ticks and some of the trials and tribulations of coming through the wakeboarding scene and just his life in general. I've seen much of the same sort of stuff happen in the scene myself over the years, and the tightrope walk people sometimes have to participate in. Religion is 110% not my thing at all, I hate it, but I also thought it was very interesting seeing how finding faith in something has effected his life.
And his section is amazing. Art. _________________ Download In-Transit today for only $5 - Winner of Transworld Video Part of the Year, Riders Choice Awards Video of the Year |

It was really refreshing to see and hear about his experiences with religion and addiction. Honestly, I can relate with him in more ways than one. Wakeboarding is my saving grace, second of course to Christ. Anyone on these forums who is struggling with any kind of addictions that effect their riding will really get a boost from reading about his experiences in my opinion. Very uplifting. I also loved how they documented his first set after his recovery. He fell and fell and fell, but absolutely tore it up, especially in his section in the end. The video does an excellent job of portraying what riding is all about and on a very personal level too. _________________ "I just want something more than to come home in my cool looking SUV, sit in my king sized leather recliner and watch reality television on my widescreen plasma TV...How easy it is to care for someone when you dont have anything else..." |

So let me just confirm. Randy gave up booze and wakeboarding because he was a p*sshead and he associated the two acts with each other hence giving them both up.
He then found / re-found god and after two years (ish) of non boozyness he just decided to ride again.
He is a sick rider, i love his section and his weird looking face _________________ burrrap |
