|
|
My friends cousin came into town and brought her parents wakesetter and told me and my friend that we could use it all we wanted while she's here long as we drove it for her and her friends when they needed us to (Which happened 2 times in 2 days.. Not a bad deal considering she paid for gas).
Anyways, Here's some pictures from yesterday.
And a few pictures from the competition this past saturday/sunday

Weird....I have only seen one other wake boat this summer. Tons of stinking tubers this summer though. and they always take the coves w/ the smoothest water.... _________________ Lake Shelbyville, IL |

brichter14, those and skiers. We have this cool cove we've found at our lake that is about 3/4 mile long, maybe 1/2 as wide and is blocked from the wind on three sides. Unfortunately, it becomes one of the only smooth parts of the lake to play on later in the day. We were there one day, parked by the west shore, in 10' deep water, maybe 50' from the shore. This husband and wife skiers were making a giant circle in the cove and when they came by us, they went between us and the shore. The water over there was probaby 5-8' deep and it has rocks and stumps. We were getting upset because our 6 and 8 YO sons were playing in the water behind the boat, plus they were being dangerous.
Another time there was a group of gals that were doing the same thing. They came by one time and an older Nautique near us yelled at them. As they drove by, I realized why...all the gals IN the boat were topless I'm sure part of the reason the Nautique folks yelled was because they had kids like me. Not such a good thing to do in a cove where there are a bunch of families...LOL! My boys had looked over when they went by and then looked at me with a kinda goofy grin.
It is irritating when people doing any watersport don't show some consideration for others nearby. I think it give watersports, or the specific sport they are doing, a bad name. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

Surely a bunch of girls driving topless is showing the ultimate in consideration for other water users... |

Riddick,
Yeah, it was alright.. I wasn't too impressed with the wake of that xstar they pulled with, mainly because it had no ballast for beginners and was wide.
But i enjoyed chillin with people the two days. |

| Chad H, Yeah..they weighted it down pretty good for advanced....sunday we had to ride behind a factory weighted x.15, so there was quite a bit of difference there. |

how do you know what hte wake was like from sitting on the shore. i didn't see you signed up. The boat was weighted for all riders, the beginners just not as much as the others, and the wake is wide when your only going 17 to 18 miles an hour. We tried to accomodate everybody as best as possible. The tourney could have been better but we had to make uncontrolled adjustments at the last minute with our site.
And advanced should not have been pulled with a different boat on Sunday, sorry that must have slipped past me.
I promise next year will be bigger and better _________________ Shane Cook

Um Thanks but you can't ride beginner and expect a sacked out boat, there are TRUE beginners that are just starting. We weighted the boat according to the lowest skill level, you can throw kids out there that have been riding behind john boats and jetskis on a sacked out X-15.
and how long of a rope did you ride at for 21 mph, 21 mph is pretty damn slow for a weighted boat, even factory ballast
for instance I ride 85 feet sacked out at 25 mph on a Nauty and 27 on a Mastercraft. _________________ Shane Cook

Jeremy's X-star was only fully sacked out for Advanced and Outlaw riders... I know cause I helped fill it. For Beginner and Intermediate the factory tanks were either partially or fully filled. Like Shane said, we weighted the boats for the lowest level rider in each class. You can't expect some kid who's only ridden behind their parents 17 I/O and can barely make a one wake jump to ride behind a fully sacked X-Star.
The only regerts I have was the confusion early in Saturday morning that made the entire day go slow. We have identified those issues and already have plans in place to make next year go much smoother.
Big thanks to everyone that came out. Expect an even better event all around next year. _________________ Jason
