I've started wakeboarding (after many years of water skiing, snow skiing and then snowboarding) and I really enjoy it. I've been out about a half dozen times but I don't last very long b/c the lower part of my back on the right side and back (right) leg fatigue really quickly and start to cramp. I'm obviously doing something wrong b/c the fatigue starts in as little as 5 minutes. Any tips/advice?
Also, I'm familiar with snowboard sizes but my wakeboard (which I bought used off of Craigslist just to give it a try) says its a "54" how does that translate? If it's a simple inches to cm conversion then I'm riding a 147? I'm a 5'3, 116lb girl that's probably too big for me, isn't it? I bought it from a girl about my size who claimed it fit her well ... luckily I didn't pay very much for it. |

That's what I suspected ... and just to correct my typo it's 58-inches, which is 147 cm (not 54-inches like I previously posted).
Would the too big board explain the severe lower back fatigue (i.e. digging too hard with my back leg to control a board that's too big for me)?
Thanks! |

Well that I don't really know about, because I have never ridden a board that was that much to big for me.
For you, you need a size somewhere between 128 and 131, or something like that. But you would probably tell a big difference if you got a smaller board. |

| i think the sore lower back and leg are probably due to bad technique, i notice alot of new riders bend there back leg way too much, so that might cause some leg soreness |

| Thanks for the input! I guess I'm back in the market for a smaller board! |
