When i bought my boat a couple months ago the owner had removed the rear seat so he could put a ballast tank in the back, well i would rather be able to have more than one other person in the boat besides me so I built a rear seat and instead of having the hard ski locker door, I made one out of plywood and I am having the guy that is redoing be upholstery wrap it in foam and also upholstering that too.

Here is a pic of the seat I build.

Ill post more pics once I get the boat back from getting reupholstered!

Looks good. Are you going to be able to squeeze some ballast in there behind teh seat maybe? Or are you going completely without any weight?

No behind the seat is the gas tank so if i decide to put weigh in I am going to have to go for the bow or on the sides of the engine.

Most common is weight in the rear ski locker and under the rear seat. Give it a thought.....

Plenty of room up front for skis and gear, but only good place for weight is in the back, really... Unless you don't mind sacs on the floor.

The quality looks good.

If you wakeboard you probably want to try to build a spot for ballast in that seat. Raise the seat base another foot and stick a 600 or 750# sack under there. The seat will be a little high but still functional.

Putting weight next to the engine compartment really screws with mobility in the boat. Under the back seat is the best place for it especially in a DD. You need that weight in the back.
